Ballina West Medical Centre offers routine childhood vaccinations as well as all government funded adult vaccinations.

We also offer travel and other recommended adult vaccinations (fees apply).

Chronic disease and GP management care plans

The qualified team of Doctors and Nurses at Ballina West Medical Centre offer comprehensive and individualised Care Plans to ensure optimal management of chronic disease and better health outcomes.

Chronic diseases that may benefit from a GP Management Plan and in many cases, referral to allied health services include, but are not limited to Diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis and chronic pain. If you have long standing medical issues please ask your Doctor if you may be eligible.

GP Mental Health Care Plans

Ballina West Medical Centre values and supports a holistic approach to health including physical, psychosocial, spiritual and mental health.

We provide a safe and inclusive environment in which to discuss mental health. We offer the preparation and ongoing management of Mental Health Care Plans and if required, referral to appropriate allied health providers or Doctors.

Over 75 home health assessments

Annual Comprehensive Health Assessments are recommended for individuals over the age of 75. The Assessments aim to identify new health issues as well as assessing best management of existing issues, ensuring optimal quality of life and better health outcomes.

Areas of assessment may include, but are not limited to lifestyle, medication, nutrition, mobility, exercise, safety in the home, care management and support networks.

Medication reviews

Individuals with complex medical conditions, requiring the prescription of multiple medications, may be eligible for an annual medication review.

Doctors at Ballina West Medical Centre work in collaboration with highly qualified Pharmacists to ensure optimal management of Pharmaceutical therapy.

Skin checks

Doctors at Ballina West Medical Centre are qualified to perform skin checks.

Regular skin checks are highly recommended in the early detection and management of sun damage and skin cancers.

Work Cover Consultations

Worker’s compensation management is available at Ballina West Medical Centre. This may include treatment management and return to work planning in collaboration with insurers and other stakeholders.

Please advise staff when booking your appointment if it is regarding worker’s compensation. This is necessary for proper management/time allocation for your consultation.

Pre employment medicals
